Courses and Locations

Drop-In Tutoring is available at multiple locations depending on the course:

Math Courses

The Math Resource Center (MRC) offers drop-in tutoring for most 100- and 200- level Mathematics courses in an environment conducive to study both individually and in small groups. The tutors staffing the MRC are able to assist students by helping with homework questions, practice problems, and exam analysis. Come by and learn how to reduce math anxiety and improve your math study skills! Just bring your math homework and study with us.

  • Drop-in academic support for GEN 103/104, MATH 055, 111, 180, 190, 205, & 206, and ENGR 190, 101, & 102
  • Drop-in academic support for Specialized Courses
    • Contemporary Mathematics (Math 105 )
    • Math for Elementary Education I & 2
  • A mini-computer lab for Hawkes, MATH XL, MyMathLab, and Internet use
  • On-line tutoring appointments for math courses. You can request on-line assistance by using the Request for Online Tutoring Appointment form

College of Business Courses

Tutoring for students in the College of Business courses is available online at the appointed times listed below or by appointment. Using Microsoft Teams, students can sign into the College of Business Drop-In Tutoring team and find the Channel for their course. Tutors can assist with concepts in presented in class, homework assignments, test reviews, and sometimes the analysis of a student’s previous exam. In the online video format, tutors and students share screens, whiteboards, and files. Students can also interact with tutors using audio only or text chat in Teams.

Please join these tutoring meetings at the beginning of the sessions. If you need assistance at a time other than the currently scheduled times, please let us know. We will try to find a time that works better for everyone.

Speed School Courses

Tutoring for students in Speed School courses is available online at the appointed times listed below or by appointment. Using Microsoft Teams, students can sign into the Speed School Drop-In Tutoring team and find the Channel for their course. Tutors can assist with concepts in presented in class, homework assignments, test reviews, and sometimes the analysis of a student’s previous exam. In the online video format, tutors and students share screens, whiteboards, and files. Students can also interact with tutors using audio only or text chat in Teams.

Please join these tutoring meetings at the beginning of the sessions. Otherwise, tutors will not know that you are wanting assistance, and they will leave the session. If you need assistance at a time other than the currently scheduled times, please let us know. We will try to find a time that works better for everyone.

REACH offers FREE tutoring and test review sessions for J.B. Speed School of Engineering students enrolled in the some of the most challenging engineering courses. Computer Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) majors, Mechanical Engineers (ME), and students taking Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) courses can find regular assistance in the Academic and Leadership Center (ALC) located in JB Speed Rm 107.

The courses we support may change from semester to semester depending on the courses enrollments, so check this schedule each semester. For example, support for the MECHANICS I: STATICS class, CEE 205, is typically only offered during the summer term, while tutoring for ECE 220, is only needed in the spring and fall semesters.

Students are welcome at any session, however content from different course sections may vary slightly depnding on the instructor. If you are unable to make it to a test review session during a scheduled time, or if you need additional assistance, please feel free to stop in at the ALC located in JB Speed Rm 107 or get in touch through email.
