REACHout Programs

Overview:

REACHout is a REACH program designed to foster student engagement, promote REACH services and increase person to person contact with REACH staff, Graduate Student Assistants and REACH student employees. REACHout events are held in the Strickler Hall lobby, directly outside of the Welcome Center.

Midterm BlitzREACHout events specifically target those students who have classes located in Strickler Hall, with the exception of Mid-term Blitz, which includes various campus locations such as Ekstrom Library and residence halls. During REACHout events students are given free food and drink, give-a-ways, study materials, mid-term and finals blitz schedules, as well as, information about REACH programs and resource centers.

Fall Festival ImageIn addition to reaching out to students, staff from REACH centers and programs are also engaged during select REACHout events. Each center or program is invited to participate in themed decorating contests for both Fall Festival and Valentines Day. REACHout contests are designed to promote a sense of community in centers/programs, to encourage student engagement and student employee engagement, and to help connect REACH resources to university students. REACHout events are an extension of the REACH Welcome Center.

The REACH Welcome Center, located within Strickler Hall, includes free coffee and water, lounge and study areas, and computers for student use. Additional features of the REACH Welcome Center include an information desk, the REACH Ambassador offices and the Academic Development Support Office. The REACH Welcome Center is one of many places on campus providing a comfortable place for students to connect, hang out and/or study.
